Mount Maddalena is the mountain of Brescia’s citizens, as the city thrives at its base.
It’s easy to understand why the wonderful asphalt 10km climb on its southern side is the most loved by native cyclists and visitors.
During the uphill section, the views overlook Brescia and the surrounding plain. The slopes are never too hard and also allow the less trained cyclists to reach the peak.
You’ll descend on the northern side from Muratello: the road is narrow with some arduous slopes and the surface is at times uneven, so ride with the utmost care.
The descent stops in Nave, where you can ride back to the starting point on level ground.
Is it too easy? Do you want a harder challenge?
Try to ride the tour backwards, climbing from Muratello.
